Friend,

It has been a busy couple of weeks in Chattanooga, and I want to make sure that you’re in the loop!

Staying in contact with you is a top priority of mine, so I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read a brief update about some of the things we’re working on both inside and outside of City Hall.

As always, if my office can be of any assistance to you or if you have questions, comments, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email me at mayor@chattanooga.gov.

What's New in Chattanooga

Airport

New direct flights are coming to the Chattanooga Airport! Our local airport is working to recruit new air service to Denver, Colorado, thanks to a $750,000 grant from the U.S. Dept. of Transportation. I've been a huge advocate for the improvements and additional air services coming to the Chattanooga Airport and am thrilled to see this work come to fruition!

Every Chattanoogan deserves to feel safe: at home, at work, downtown, on the street, in our parks, at events, and throughout the community. Earlier this week, I highlighted some key public safety initiatives designed to ensure that that’s the case.

Frontline Response Announcement

Chattanooga was awarded $12.5 million to help veterans experiencing homelessness. Frontline's 'Freedom Homestead' will complement our work to address homelessness in Chattanooga and Hamilton County. Learn more here!

More urban greenery and tree canopy is coming to Chattanooga's disadvantaged communities, thanks to a $6 million grant from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture! Kudos to our Parks and Outdoors for locking in such a highly competitive grant! 👏

In the Community

FunFair Festival

Investing in early learning is the single most important thing we can do for our children and Chattanooga’s future. That's why early childhood education is the first pillar of our One Chattanooga plan, and it's why I was thrilled to visit last weekend's FunFair Festival! The free event was fun for the whole family and ensured that parents know how to set their kids up for success with The Chattanooga Basics!

The Jewish community in Chattanooga has a rich history that stretches back from our City's origins through today. I have been heartened this week by Chattanoogans from all parts of town standing in solidarity against Hamas' horrific terrorist attacks on the people of Israel. Read my full statement here.

I'm so grateful for the volunteers who helped to keep our river clean! It's all of our responsibility to take care of our mighty Tennessee River. Thank you to everyone who showed up for the annual Tennessee River Rescue!

Chattanooga is a welcoming community for everyone, regardless of who you love or how you identify. Thanks to the organizers of Chattanooga Pride for inviting me to speak at this year's festival! 🌈
