Friend,

This weekend, we celebrate the more than twenty-thousand Veterans who live in Hamilton County. As the son of an US Army veteran, I carry with me a personal sense of gratitude for the sacrifices made by all of you who answered the call of duty. Chattanooga prides itself on being the most patriotic city in America, and I'm honored to say to all of our area Veterans, on behalf of our great city: thank you for your service.

Tomorrow, the City of Chattanooga will join the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council and Hamilton County for a Veterans Day Ceremony to honor the service of all members of the Armed Forces. I invite you and your family to join us at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 11 at the Tennessee National Guard Armory (1801 S. Holtzclaw Ave) as we thank our country's courageous Veterans for their service.

Veterans Day

My administration is committed to honoring our Veterans not just this weekend, but every day of the year:

  • The Veterans Bridge Flag Initiative honors Chattanoogans and their loved ones who bravely served our country. If you'd like to commemorate the service of a Veteran in your life, please click here.
  • Chattanooga was chosen by the nonprofit Frontline Response to house "Freedom Homestead," a transformational campus for Chattanooga area Veterans experiencing homelessness.
  • I'm proud to support Wreaths Across Chattanooga as they begin their 2023 efforts to place a wreath on every gravestone at the National Cemetery.. If you'd like to donate a wreath to honor a fallen hero, please click here.

Through these initiatives and others, we're proudly supporting those who served our country.

If you have questions or feedback on these projects or anything else we're working on, please contact me at mayor@chattanooga.gov.

Thanks and have a great holiday weekend!

What's New in Chattanooga

The Bend Aerial

We're so close to putting shovels in the ground to bring the One Westside vision to life! This unified plan for the Bend and the Westside community is years in the making, and it will set the course for Chattanooga's continued success and vibrance for decades to come. Now that the plan has been approved by City Council and County Commission, we're on the cusp of a transformational extension of our downtown core, creating an entirely new neighborhood, and reinvigorating another. Learn more here.

National Park City

Chattanooga has been nominated to become America's First National Park City! ๐ŸŒณThe National Park City club is exclusive โ€” so far only London and Adelaide have earned the prestigious honor. With our love for the great outdoors and commitment to sustainability, Chattanooga is on its way to being next!

Siskin Groundbreaking

I was thrilled to participate in the groundbreaking for the new Healing Gardens at Siskin Hospital! As our region's first wellness garden, the new space will complement Siskin's leading physical rehab center and help patients through their recovery journeys. Congratulations, Siskin!

Mayor for a Day

I recently welcomed 9th grade student Ella Marie to City Hall to serve as "Mayor for a Day!" She may be a high schooler now, but this bright young lady may very well be mayor in the future!

Forbes has called Chattanooga the โ€œSilicon Valley of trucking"  because of our leadership in the logistics field. This week, I had the opportunity to welcome over 1,200 logistics professionals to Chattanooga for "F3: Future of Freight Festival," hosted by FreightWaves.
