Friend,

Thanks for taking a minute to read this quick update. As your mayor, I'm dedicated to leading a local government that's effective, responsive, and transparent — so I want to take a moment to highlight some of the things we're working on at City Hall to ensure Chattanooga continues to be a great place to call home.

As always, if you have any input or questions, or if I can be of any assistance, please feel free to email me at mayor@chattanooga.gov.

Thanks again,

What's New in Chattanooga

As mayor, safety is my top priority. That's why we're actively making Frazier Ave safer for pedestrians. A reduced speed limit and a new, temporary weekend traffic pattern for Frazier Ave will slow traffic and provide insight for long-term redesign of a critical Northshore route. Learn more about these changes here.

Pedestrian Safety
Amtrak

Bringing passenger rail back to Chattanooga has been a top transportation priority of mine since Day 1. This week, our application earned a $500,000 federal grant that will put our vision -- to activate service between Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga, and Atlanta -- into the federal development pipeline in a very real way. This is a BIG deal, and it moves Tennessee's residents significantly closer to realizing enhanced intercity rail connectivity.

Applications are now open for the City of Chattanooga's spring internship program! Tennessee college students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply for the paid internship at cha.city/internship before the December 12 deadline. Download the flyer here!

Plan Chattanooga

Help shape the future of our city — take the Plan Chattanooga survey today! This is the second survey in the Plan Chattanooga process. It builds upon the responses we received from the first survey, which was conducted Aug-Sep. Be sure to submit your input at planchattanooga.org/choices before the survey closes on December 15.

In the Community

Coats For Kids

This holiday season, please consider making a difference in a Chattanooga child's life through the Forgotten Child Fund. Ginny and I dropped off donations for the Forgotten Child Fund last week at WTVC NewsChannel 9's annual Coats for Kids drive, but it's not too late to give! Simply drop off children's coats or toys for donation at any Chattanooga Fire Department location, or see other ways to give online. Together, we can ensure that every child in our community has a warm and joyful holiday season.

Ornament

The second official Chattanooga ornament is out now! I was honored to help unveil the 2023 ornament, which beautifully depicts the Tennessee Aquarium. All sales proceeds support local artists who have a disability or are experiencing homelessness. Get yours at hartgallery.org!

Thanks to everyone who came out for another great (and rainy!) MAINx24! 🎉My team and I can't wait to celebrate Chattanooga's southside with you again next year.
